On May 29, 2025, Vision Group, in partnership with Travelcare and the Embassy of Ireland, officially launched the Teachers Making a Difference 2025 competition at their Kampala headquarters. The initiative celebrates outstanding educators across Uganda, providing winners with an opportunity for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Ireland and a cash award to invest back into their schools. Declan Peppard, Managing Director of Travelcare, represented the company’s CSR commitment, highlighting Travelcare’s belief that empowering teachers transforms communities and shapes futures.

Event Highlights

Inaugural Remarks: Don Wanyama, CEO of Vision Group, commended Uganda’s educators for their resilience and creativity in the classroom.
Ambassador’s Address: Ambassador Jake Colgan of Ireland emphasized the strong partnership between Uganda and Ireland in educational exchange programs.
Travelcare’s CSR Pledge: Declan Peppard reaffirmed Travelcare’s commitment:

Prize Structure:
1. First Prize: Round-trip tickets to Ireland, full CPD program sponsorship, and USD 2,000 for school projects.
2. Second Prize: USD 1,500 in school grants.
3. Third Prize: USD 1,000 in educational resources.
